heavy missile cruiser

I think the most comparable vessel would be our Ticonderoga-class cruisers, although those are geared more towards long-range land attack than ship-to-ship battles.

Interesting use of nuclear reactors and steam engines. It doubles the endurance of their missile cruiser over that of its American counterpart. As far as I know it's the only surface vessel of the Russian fleet to use that. Actually with the Virginia and California Class missile cruisers all decommisioned the Kirov Class Cruisers are the last surface ships other than American carriers to use nuclear propulsion, at least as far as I know.
