You have been in a military aviation carreer field for too long when..


(1) you can ID any aircraft just by the sound.
(2) you can tell what is wrong with a jet just by the sound.
(3) you can tell which blade is out of balance on a helicopter by the sound of it flying in.
 
As I am old, I only fully qualify for 1., but this for sure (even a/c I had never actually seen, happened after the fall of the wall for a SU craft). Mybe you should amplify your subject line to "You have been in or out of military aviation too long when..") :) . Having been raised 2 km from Rhein Main air base of cause helped... :)
