Wishing you all a happy holiday. (even if you don't celebrate eastern.. :) )

I'm not celebrating it much myself, but it's good to have a few days off..
Spent the entire day up in the nearby mountains, and rounded off the day with a 17km long ski trip back home
(down hill most of the time 8) ).

Great fun :D

I'm old enough to remember when Easter was the number one Christian holiday before commercialism swept Christmas to the forefront.

One thing I hadn't mentioned to folks is that in marrying a Roman Catholic I am joining the Roman Catholic faith. I didn't do that with my first marriage (also a Roman Catholic) but that wasn't the reason the marriage failed. It didn't help but it was far from the main reason. I'm doing it this time because the love I have for this woman is beyond anything I've ever known or knew could be. Joining her faith is an extension of that love in my eyes.

So for me, this Easter is a pretty big deal, and in a sense, like going home again to the Easters of my youth.

yea, easter makes perfect sense...

some guy who is gods son is nailed to a cross, comes back to life so we have an rabbit that comes around and hands out painted hard-boiled eggs and chocolate....

Actually, it's only Easter in the western churches. Orthodox Easter is still a month away

It's weird but the Armenian Orthodox church that i'm in, celebrates Easter today and it's the biggest holiday of the year for us.

The holiday is over today.
Back to work again tomorrow.. :?

Been a great week, lots of skiing and outdoors activities..
Rounded off the holiday with a ski trip home, back down from the "local highlands" here :D

bloody commercialisation   its taken the meaning out of so many holidays for a lot of people, im not saying we should indoctrinate people but i was talking to people at work and when asked what they thought about easter 9/10 of them said chocolate and holidays. but i guess that is alost to do with the decline of # of church goers in australia

oh well, hope you all had a happy and safe easter and holidays.
remember, if you drink and drive your a bloody idiot, so dont, we want everyone back here safe and sound!!
