Hi all!

My name is Christian and as you can see I’m from Iceland.
I’m a reserve member of the Iceland Crisis Response Unit with the rank of Sergeant.
Since most of you probably don’t know this unit, and instead of writing basically the same as in this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iceland_Crisis_Response_Unit

It will give you a good idea of what this unit is all about.

In civilian life, I work as a mentor for young kids who has gotten into trouble with the law.

Best regards, Christian
Or as we say in Iceland: Með kveðju

Hope you guys got through that volcano okay.

Well! we're mainly afraid of volcanic ash, not so much for family members' lives, but for their livelihood. If to much ash falls on the meadow, the livestock have to be taken in right away because fluorine in the ash is dangerous for them. Also if a lot of ash falls, farmers will not be able to harvest hay they need for the animals' winter fodder.
