Ok, who has seen the movie? I just saw it and I have to say, militarily, it is the most accurate movie as far as locations, uniforms, speech, and overall acting.

This would definitely get a :salute2: from me. It is actually believable... unlike that "other" movie that sucks.

Of the places they did location shooting with, I have been there and it is accurate. The devil is in the details and those guys got it right.
 
You're absolutely right...now I'm not too happy about the storyline per se, plus the fact that they were a Chemical unit and they were doing some pretty high speed stuff. Until I figured out what their mission was about 1/3 of the way through the movie I was thinking these guys were SF. BUT, the places, the uniforms, the lingo, and the equipment was spot on. Not to mention the chaos in Baghdad that erupted after its capture, I damn near had a flashback on that one...;-)
 
yep... the detail was even good... remember when they went to MOPP 4 in the building? They came out and their DCU's were all dirty from the inside of the suit. It's the little details like that that go a long way with me with movies like this. Yeah, the plot was what it was, but the devil is in the details with me.
 
The thing is, if they were a chemical unit, then why wouldn't they have a JLIST, which doesn't leave all the charcoal on the uniform like the previous generation of MOPP suit.
 
Doesn't every Joe get JLIST now, not just the CBRN knuckleheads? All of the new ones have a liner to prevent the ickyness.

As far as the CBRN guys acting like SF, that's pretty accurate. If you talk to some of them, they're EOD/SF and maybe a sprinkle of Jesus all rolled into one. (Tech Escort anyone?)


I'm looking forward to seeing it. After Hurt Locker ANYTHING has to be better, and less painful to watch.
 
You're absolutely right PJ, every swinging harry during the invasion had the JLIST, so since they were a chemical unit, they especially would not be wearing the old MOPP.

You can eat the charcoal from the suit if you got an upset stomach...... Just sayin`... :mrgreen:
