Which battle with biggest casualty?

Operation Just Cause, the US takeover of Panama

Mogadishu

Desert Storm

Those are the only ones I really know about.

Hardly a "great battle". An overwhelming invasion would be a better term.
For good ol' battle you can't go past the Falklands. Impressive.

Flakland War, an impressive victory. Or Iraq-Iran War, a lot of chemicals war. It is sucks.

1) Operation Ramadan, Siege of Basra (Iran Iraq war)
2) First battle of Grozny (First Chechen War)
3) Battle of Khorramshahr (Iran Iraq war)
4) Battle of Goose Green (Falklands. tactical not size wise)
5) Second battle of Grozny (War in the North Caucasus)
6) Ten-Day War (Yugoslav Wars)
7) Croatian War of Independence (Yugoslav Wars)
8) Battle for Monrovia (First Liberian Civil War)
9) Siege of Mitrovica. (Kosovo war)
10) Second Battle of Fallujah (Iraq war)

Waiting in a trench, his MG3 at the ready, looks like 1914/1918.

I suppose your answer to this question will revolve around in what country you were born in

Not really Le, I'm with you on Tumble Down and think given the conditions of the campaign in the Falklands that it is probably the greatest feat of arms in the late 20th century.

How about the battle for Baghdad in April 2003. Pretty innovative use of armor in a city, not to mention the speed at which US ground forces were able to take the city considering initial casualty estimates for US forces taking the city were around 10,000 . Plus, it was no cakewalk by any means.
*I may be partial to this one

As far as nasty up close and personal: the 2nd Battle for Fullujah followed closely by the 1st battle for Fullujah

As far as shear audacity and logistical feat of arms, I would agree, the Falklands was just awsomely executed...and maybe just a little lucky as well.

Shuffle it around a bit, but quite a Battles listed :m1:

Well I have a definition for a qualification for great battle:
1- winning force is either equal or smaller of opposing one
2- Battle itself should be classified as a battle, with both parties being able to have a pop @ each other
?
