GERMANY - nice people, nice place

Padre

Milforum Chaplain
I'm not long back from touring Germany as a chaplain to a group that went there for an event called "World Youth Day." About 1.4 million youth from around the world turned up for the "pilgrimage." Whenever we sat down at a cafe or a restaurant, the locals would shout us a tea/coffee/beer. Many families came out into the streets to give pilgrims sweets or drinks. The towns and country-side were beautiful. Thanks Germany and hope to visit again one day.

I spent 2 1/2 years in West Germany serving at a US Army border post. We were close enough to East Germany that folks understood and appreciated what we were doing there. I found eastern West Germany to be very welcoming and hospitable. I'm not surprised at all by your experience, Padre.

I was stationed in Germany too.

It was great, and the people were friendly.

...oh yeah, the beer was good too.

we had a German foreign exchange student last year. he was only here for a year, but it went so fast. we are as good as brothers now. We just sent in the mail today a package for his birthday. Germany ROCKS!!!
