IF and that is a HUGE IF, the Swedish goverment decided to sell Georgia Gripen,s it´d be more dangerous for Georgia then for Russian attack air crafts.
It takes a few years to train a competent Gripen jock and Georgia would never get that time before Russia found another excuse to invade.
On the plus side for the Gripen is that it doesn´t need airfields, a straight patch of road is enough to R&R them.
Thus increasing their suvivability in a full on conflict against the Russkies.
On the downside, Georgia wouldn´t have the possibility to buy the quantity needed, nor train the amount of pilots needed for any prolonged conflict.
Thus, stick to SAM,s, make it very costly to fly CAS and the Russians would have to go back to the less accurate high altitude bombing of days past.
