Raytheon, the world's largest missile maker, and BAE Systems, Europe's biggest defense company, passed armored vehicle maker General Dynamics on the list of the Defense Department's top suppliers in 2008.
General Dynamics, the Falls Church maker of Abrams tanks, fell two spots to sixth, from fourth in 2007. Raytheon in Waltham, Mass., rose to fourth from fifth, while London-based BAE climbed to fifth from sixth. The top three suppliers were unchanged: Bethesda-based Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Northrop Grumman.
