LOS ANGELES - A 3½-foot forum member believed to be the elusive “Gator” who lurked in a military forum for the last few months was captured Thursday in a wrestling match with an intelligence officer and Swedish infantryman.

Several would-be "gator wranglers" have failed to remove the wily Gator since the reptile was first spotted on www.military-quotes.com. The animal then managed to disappear by ignoring anyone who caught whiff of him until being sighted again at the end of this week.

On Thursday, the lil Gator came out of a port-a-john in the nearby park and was spotted on land about 3:30 p.m. — just as active duty and veteran forum members and poser experts were meeting nearby to find a way to capture the non-native reptile.

If it weren't for all the bloody PC types we could make ourselves some nice wallets to commemorate the event.

So they finally caught 'Reggie'.

Does anyone know where Reggie came from? Alligators are not exactly native to Los Angeles.

No. They are only native to the US South East (Florida, Louisiana, Texas, etc). To see one in the Wild in LA is weird. My guess is that some idiot brought one home as a pet and then decided an adult alligator wasn't the ideal pet to have around and dumped it in a lake.
