Defense Secretary Robert Gates is expected as the guest of honor tonight at a reception for Our Military Kids, which helps children whose National Guard and Reserve parents are deployed to a war zone. The event, which commemorates $1 million in grants from Our Military Kids and kicks off April as the Month of the Military Child, gets under way at 5 p.m. on the rooftop terrace of the 101 Constitution Building.
Also expected: Marine Corps Commandant James Conway.
