WHEELER ARMY AIRFIELD, Hawaii (AP) — A military jury in Hawaii on Wednesday convicted a soldier of aggravated assault in the killing of an Iraqi man last year. The soldier, Specialist Christopher Shore, was found not guilty of third-degree murder, but guilty of the lesser charge.
Specialist Shore has said he shot at, but intentionally missed, the victim when ordered by the platoon leader to shoot him and that the platoon leader, charged with premeditated murder, had killed the man.
