You have a point there. Its amazing though that the french were never that successful. Whats interesting though is that napoleon was not mentioned.

Although there were many victories along Napoleon's path, in the end it was a loss. Think of it as Germany in WWII. Gained ALL that land in Europe but then lost it all. So in the end it counts as a loss. They do note, fairly, that there were 'temporary' victories.
