French foriegn legion

I would like to find out how many south africans is in the legion.
did any south africans ever join the legion.
i want to join the legion later this year.

If you join and pass selection and on into basic. Try and get into the 2REP, I'm not sure on how many South Africans are there, but it holds the largest amount of native English speakers. That is if jumping out of a perfectly good airplane is on your agenda.

From what I know, it is also one of the most popular units people try to go to. Your choice of assignment depends on how you place in basic training so if you do not do well, odds are you may not end up at 2REP.
