Hi guys. Ok so I am considering joining French Foreign Legion. I have few questions regarding this topic. Is it possible to choose what regiment I will be assigned to? If yes, under what circumstances? If not, are there any chance I can switch my regiment in future?

To be more specific, I am hoping to get into 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment. To be even more specific, my goal is to get into 4th Company, which specialises in missions behind enemy lines. What are requirements and what is usual procedure for person getting accepted in this regiment and particular company? I have done martial arts for several years, have shoot different types of guns (unofficially) and have done few commercial parachute jumps together with instructor just for fun. At this moment I am learning french language. I have no previous military experience. What else should I do to raise my chance of getting in not just this regiment, but this particular company? Any information will help. Thank you in advance.

Yes I have, no answer. Question isnt really hard for those who have actually served in legion.

Well, I'd say, that if they haven't even bothered to answer you, they've "passed" on your offer.

There was no offer to start with. I just asked a question about regiments. No extra information was given. Mby you should stop telling what in your opinion they did or didnt and simply answer question

If you don't like the answers, maybe you shouldn't ask the questions.

Just use your common sense. If you have actually contacted them and they thought that you were worth their while, believe me, they would have answered you.

join French foreign legion- For what? If you want to earn moneys by working, I advice you go to american and or other countries of European union .

If you want to enjoy the battle, I strong recommand you fly to Sylia, there are a very cruel war on playing. In there ,you can find a lot of funny by blow up the tanks.

You gave me NO answer whatsoever to my question. They have no information about me therefore there is 0 reasons for them to assume Im not worth theyr while.

It is none of other peoples concern. I came here not to discuss my motivation, my choisse or myself. I came here to get factual answer on my question, which is "Is it possible to choose what regiment I will be assigned to? If yes, under what circumstances? If not, are there any chance I can switch my regiment in future?"

Stop assuming what I need or dont need and be polite people and just answer me my question which is ONLY reason I have come here. Thank you.

I hoped that if you were as bright as you might need to be you would work out what I was saying. I know nothing about FFL recruiting, but I certainly know the impression your first post left on me. I can tell you, if I were a recruiter I'd run away from you as fast as i could, with my hands over my ears.

They are recruiting for a military force, a force comprised of people who will go anywhere they are sent and do whatever they are told. They are more interested in people who will give them what they want,... rather than pandering to your ideas of what you might like out of them.

Bingo, too many kids these days fancy themselves as something special. I'm sure the ffl is like any other military...you do wtf you're told when you're told to do it. You joined them...they didn't ask for you....you will go where they need you, they could give two shites about what you personally want. Militaries aren't in the business of pandering to fair weather soldiers...it'd be wise for this guy to remember that.
