Fox Two

Radar guided AAM Launch
Well, maybe in other countries' aviation parlance.

In US aviation parlance, Fox One is the radio call for a radar-guided AAM launch (i.e., Sparrow missile or AMRAAM); Fox Two is for an IR-guided AAM launch (i.e., Sidewinder). I've seen Fox Three used for a guns shot, but I'm not 100% sure how accurate that is...

I've seen Fox Three used in a couple of instances as the call for a launch of the AIM-54 Phoenix missile by F-14 Tomcats. Do we have any US fighter pilots around here who can clarify this?

I go for what has already been stated above.
Fox Two - A radio call from a friendly aircraft announcing that he is firing an AIM-9P Sidewinder.
