Food in the army

Yes. Korean food would be different.
Basic layout would be rice, soup and three side dishes.

This is a very typical RoK military mess hall meal.
do you get more to go with it?...
or seconds?

Sometimes if they have left overs in the kitchen they go around asking if anyone wants more of whatever's left over and they give them to whoever wants them. This is assuming you have time to sit around though which means it'll mostly happen for dinner.
As for going for seconds, you can't. You take what you need the first time around and that's it. I've never encountered a case where anyone did go for seconds anyway. One tray of food is more than enough.

As far as I know the vast majority don't. What you get is what you get.
The soup doesn't taste like much but it's got what you need in it.

Fruits are actually issued on a regular basis to keep the vitamin levels up.
The menu has a lot of vegetables actually, I guess it wasn't much of a vegetable day when they were serving the meal they took the picture of.
