BAGHDAD, Aug 23, 2006 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Two roadside bombs targeting an
Iraqi patrol went off in southern Baghdad on Wednesday, wounding five
police, an Interior Ministry source said.

The blasts occurred at about 3:00 p.m. (1100 GMT) in Dora district in
southern Baghdad, the source said on condition of anonymity.

Five cars including a police vehicle were seriously destroyed in the
attacks, the source added.

Meanwhile, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a police headquarters
in Iraqi northern city of Mosul, killing at least one person and injuring 10
others.

Mosul, about 400 km north of Baghdad, is believed to be a stronghold of
insurgents.

Iraqi police are frequently attacked by insurgents, who accuse the police
of collaborating with U.S. forces.
