first firearm

I learned to shoot with my Remington 514 .22 bolt action single shot. I got it at 10 years old and still have it.

I used this Marlin model 60 .22 semi-auto for years when I squirrel hunted. Later, I added a scope and use it for plinking. It's never jammed or misfired and it's cheap. I've seen Remington autos jam while hunting with a friend and this little rifle just kept on firing.

This is my fun gun, Ruger Super Single Six convertible to .22 magnum, 6.5 inch barrel.

Another favorite plinker, Stoeger .22 LR Luger.

All good first guns to learn with and just plain fun when you get older.

What ever you decide to get, don't be a fool with it. Everytime you pick it up fresh, clear it. Also everytime you want to clean it.

Hello!

You mean those on picture, i dont know, but mine was real thing, full auto, and semi.

See you!

I meant did you own or still own that type of firearm? So you had a standard military AP M70 ab2 as your first firearm. Was it your own personal firearm or was it something issued to you?

If you looking for a fun, economically affordable, easy to maintain and clean rifle. I think a Ruger 10/22 Rifle is just what you're looking for. It's a Semi-Automatic magazine fed 10rd capacity .22LR rifle.

There are many accessories and add ons that you can get for it. Also if you ever decide to resale it you will not get all of your money back but you will make a nice sum.

I second this motion in a heartbeat for a beginning shooter.

It is was issued by me, and pistol was mine, but if you ask me my very first wpns, wich i shoot in high school , coz that was mandatory (socialism was great), was Carbine M48 7,9mmx57.

Stay well my brother!

Personally I think would-be suicidal maniacs with guns would be a bit put-off by a well-trained rifle team ready to cut them to ribbons if they try something funny.

Hi there major

I wish we had marksmanship courses in American schools. But that will never, ever happen.

Marksmanship was just a lesson, but classes was called ONO I DSZ, or People protection, and social self protection, crazy isn t. We learned how to recognized antrax, explosives, terrorism things, but i did not realized who was are enemies, i supossed west states.

Stay well!:?

Makes sense now...

As for firearms and schools here in the USA. Back in the day schools had rifle shooting teams and there was never a single issue with it. But times have changed....

in todays world no school would take the responsibilty for insurance purposes...:)

the first pistol i fired was a copy of the baretta 950. It belonged to my mom and it was one of the cutest little things i ever fired:

The first rifle i fired was the classic M1 Carbine, as part of civil guard training. i really liked shooting it and even now when i compare to several assault rifles i have fired since(AK,Galil, M16,M4):

Really?
Many New Zealand schools have rifle and pistol teams (They are slowly becoming more popular), the only thing holding back more of them is the availability of ranges to shoot at.

The High School I attended had Pistol, Target and Black Powder teams/clubs the latter is where I built my first Black Powder Mortar in metal shop.

For the most part these clubs are more popular in urban areas, probably because rural areas are more into hunting and grow up with firearms.

As far as first firearms go my first one was a Russian Model 1938 Carbine.

Marksmanship in schools

Hi there

We must make comparasion, between marksmanship and ideological lessons wich i take. I dont now is marks. good idea, when we have a lot s of violence in today schools.
My lessons was to confused i was 15, or 16 i can t remember, and suddenly we learn abot landmines, we have it, not real ones in classrom. So we learned, who are ours enemyes, i think even how to plant IED, crazy.
-Don t take your gunns to town-, like Cash song.

Stay well!

My country

Sorry to bother you again.
My country are, poisoned with gunns and ammo, still you can find 60mm mortar, or even antiaircraft guns, from people who hide it, after war end, so be clever , no gunns to schools.

Even 60 km from Croatian capitol , are still minefields, and people get killed.:-(
