Oh, my first post was a misprint. The United States had two men down, one of wich did not deserve the red card, and Italy made Brian McBride BLEED! For those of you complaining about soccer becoming an acting sport, thats not acting. Now, Thierry Henry's foul, that was acting.

I still say the elbow was a yellow card maximum and that Mastroeni's red should have just been a foul.

I feel just the opposite, De Rosia elbow to O'Brian was a well deserved Redcard while Mastroeni's foul should have been a yellow. All in all it was an excellant game, too bad Beasley's goal was overruled...

There is nothing more frustrating in the world than being a French soccer fan. They had the game clinched and they let it slip away. The SK goal was incrediable stupid too (Bounced over Barthez head).

The Ghana-Czech game was also very good, go Blackstars! Incredible upset. Unfortunatly they play the USA next so I have to support my own.

Mmarsh, I swear it looked like it hit Barthez's hand...I don't know if I'm crazy, but I swear it did...LOL, Thierry Henry's goal was a real beauty of a goal too. And the first French goal in a WC game since 98, you gotta be proud of that.Beasley's goal shoulda been in. The keeper had both feet behind the goal line.He should have scored.

Nah, McBride is just a really good actor
Seriously: The first 2 red cards were well deserved, but I didn't see the second one

Didn't see SK-France. Are you serious?? Did France not score any goals at all in 02?

No it high bounced over his head and rolled behind Barthez fingartips (never liked Barthez, I was hoping they'd start Coupet instead).

Actually I though SK played very well. They had a lot of heart and they'd never quit they just keep coming at the French until they broke. The French played fine the first half and then impoded the 2nd.

At least they finally scored, they are not elminated yet but like the US they need a big break, except they have get this break without Zidane or Adigal both of which are out next game for yellow card violations.

All
I haven't done the math for the French, but they way I figure it. The way for the US to advance is for the Czech Republic to lose against Italy (50-50 chance) and the US MUST win (no ties) against Ghana. Ghana played well against the Czechs (who beat us) so the odds are not so good (but not impossible).

They didn't score anything in the World Cup...The second card shouldn't have been red. Some say it should have just been a foul. I certainly think it shouldn't have been...but anyway, the referee is supposedly not being allowed to officiate any more cup games...woohoo

Just In...

De Rossi the guy that elbowed McBride will be facing a FIFA Displinary Hearing on June 23 for that elbow. He is definately out for the Czech Republic and very probably much more. There is also an Aussie and Czech player facing sanctions.
