This game is freeware. It operates on four levels - tactical and divisional battles and operational and strategic campaigns. At present there are the following historical modules available for the game: Napoleonic(all four levels), World War II(all four levels), medieval(tactical battles), 18th century(tactical battles) and modern(divisional battles and a strategic campaign). The download package includes map and army/scenario editors. There are more historical modules in the works so we'll see what comes next with that. One caveat is that the FOS2 graphics will never win any awards but I think they do the job well enough. To download FOS2 first type in "field of strategy game" in the Yahoo! Search dialog box. That will result in the first results page showing a link for TPGames and FOS2. Click on it and it will take you to the TPGames start page where you will see the download link for this game. Another link you will see is to the FOS2 forums in English and French(the game's creator is French). After you check out the game you can sign up for the English forums and maybe keep me some company - FOS2 has so far gotten very little publicity outside France and the new people at the forums all seem to be going to the French boards.
