in my book he betrayed the packers

I don't know that he betrayed the Packers especially since he carried them through his last season there but it is time he just went away, the guy has a phenomenal record but he is turning himself into a national joke which is sad given that he could have retired with both record and reputation intact.

I am guessing now that he is being made fun of on the likes of the Colbert Report most teams will be starting to realise how sad this has become.

B U L L !

He was forced out by the Front Office.

B U L L !

With the death of former quarterback McNair (a close personal friend), Favre has come to the realization of just how short life can be. With him playing 18+ years of football (1991 NFL draft) .. all of the away games, spring camps and practices, he hasn't been able to spend a lot of time with his family. Favre has stated he is going to vacation and spend time with his family and try to catch up on some of the time he missed while setting all of those records everybody speaks about and all of those wins that he carried out for the Packers.

Like he said, there really IS a life besides that of a professional football player and he plans on enjoying life.

BTW ... to say that Favre was forced out by the front office is a blatant invention ... favre might just walk .. might retire and return only to retire again .....

BUT ... AS LONG AS FAVRE WANTED TO PLAY, THERE IS A TEAM IN THE NFL, THAT WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A PLAYER OF HIS EXPERIENCE ON THEIR ROSTER.

JUST FOR THE RECORD:

RECORDS & MILESTONES

Favre currently possesses most of the well-known NFL career records for quarterbacks, including:
  • Most AP NFL MVP awards: 3 (1995, 1996, 1997)
  • Most consecutive starts by a quarterback (NFL): 253 (275 including playoffs)
  • Most wins by a starting quarterback (NFL) regular season career: 160 (Regular season record: 160-93)
  • Most career passing touchdowns: 442
  • Most career passing yards: 61,655
  • Most career pass completions: 5,377
  • Most career pass attempts: 8,758
  • Most career games with at least three touchdowns: 63
  • Favre holds the record for consecutive starts by a quarterback with 253. His streak ranks behind only Jim Marshall, who started 270 straight games.
  • In the playoffs, Favre stands behind only Joe Montana in pass completions, passing touchdowns, passing yards and passing attempts.
  • In addition, Favre owns a number of team records, having printed his name into almost every passing category in the annals of Green Bay Packers history, most recently setting the team record for consecutive completions with 20 on November 22, 2007, against the Detroit Lions. With 38 "come-from-behind" 4th quarter wins & 2 more overtime victories, Brett Favre is the Green Bay Packers record holder and second only to John Elway's 47 4th quarter or OT "come-back wins", in NFL history.
The above records are only a small portion of Favre's contributions to NFL history.

Well said Chief. Very well said. He's had a phenomenal run... A run most quarterbacks can only dream of having, and now it's time he relaxed and enjoyed himself.

What does now have to do with then? One of my buddies is from Wi. & a big Packers fan. His buddys were sending all the local Wi. news on the Farve situation to him & he was showing it to me. It was quite evident that the Front Office decided it was time for a new QB. There are times when it is in the best intrest of the Team to move on, & the Front Office evidently decided the time had come. But, what ever, lost interest after the Oilers moved.

That's it. Regardless of what he did in his career, if I were a hall of fame voter I would not vote for him just for this foolish display of selfishness.

He's become the biggest ego since Ryan Leaf.
