Favorite Steve McQueen Movie

Definitely the best car chasing scene of all time. No doubt about that.

However, my favorite movie of his would have to be "The Sand Pebbles". Solid acting that got McQueen his only Oscar nomination (though he deserved more) and stunning scenery with fantasticly accurate ship scenes and props. Probably the only movie of it's kind too. I can't think of any others that harken back to the days of gun boats and banana wars.

Did anybody even think about a WWII great callled "The Great Escape". I thought it was very good movie. How many others have seen too?

Oh yeah, I thought of it, but as it was a multi-cast role and so did not primarily star McQueen I didn't offer it here as my choice. I imagine other folks felt the same. It has been mentioned more than once, however, in the "What's your favorite POW movie?" thread.
