Is Fascist extreme right wing?

Many people believe that fascist is a form of extreme right wing. but i personally do not believe that. Because fascist is actually a compromise of right and left ideas. But more left than right. Mussolini was a communist before he became dictator.

Even though the liberals try to associate it with conservatives, Fascism is in fact a left wing ideology. As seen in the word Nazi. Which is an acronym for "National SOCIALIST Party"

Fascism is a strange thing. It's moral issues are extreme right wing. But most of it's economic ideals are left wing. The main difference in it's economic practice is that fascism allows private ownership of property and business. But it still uses the state before self idea.

One should differentiate between fascism and national socialism. The latter has the ethnic component added. Mussolini had Jews in his Fasci di Combattimento and made no racial laws. Germany however, abused Nietsche's idea of the Ubermensch and used this as a blueprint for their racial theories.
Economically you can call it socialist because of the state influence on economic life. But all the other militaristic are certainly not liberal!

So by that definition, a French Fry is actually French? Or a Danish (the pastery) actually comes from Denmark. Who knew? ;)

Once again on this board someone is confusing economic and political theories. Socialism is economic, its antithesis is Capitalism. Nazism is political its antithesis is Democracy.

Fascism is NOT a left wing Ideology, it is right wing. The reason some liberals refer to conservatism as nazis is because they share some common believes, although that is not say that Nazism and conservatism are one in the same.

Some similarities...

1. Restrictions on personal freedoms, conservatives believe in comformity and destain individual liberty. They dont like black sheep. Liberals are just the opposite.

2. A large, strong, Central Government usually within a executive with vast powers a dislike of checks and balences.

3. Destain of the Free Press

4. A high emphisis on militarism.

5. Very nationalistic even ultra-nationalists sentiments.

6. INTOLERENCE (Racism/anti semtism/anti-immigration/homophobic). Now before all you conservatives get all uptight, I am not accusing you personally of being racist. but most Racist Movements such the KKK, White Supremists, etc are all right wing in origin. One only needs to look at the groups trying to ban homosexuality. Liberals (in theory, not always in practice) believe in tolerance.

On the Other hand Nazism and Conservativism differ

1. Economics- 5.56 is fairly accurate. Nazis dont like lassiez faire business. Conservatives believe in a hands off approach. +

2. Foreign Policy- Conservatives tend to wish to stay isolationist (except for neocons), nazis are expasionistic...

3. Religon- Conservatives are very religous, religon is poison to Nazis.

4. Firearms- Nazis banned them, Conservatives don't.

Fascism isn't a completely left or right wing ideology. It has just as much in common with the left as it does with the right. Really, it's more center. And no, center doesn't always mean balanced.
