Reputation points and power |
Here's a quick intro to the vBulletin reputation system The User Reputation system allows you to leave comments about one anothers' posts, and thereby contribute to your overall "reputation". You gain and lose reputation based on how your posts are scored by other forum members. Members with the ability to affect reputation, will either give or take aways points by approving or disapproving with a post's content. All new members starts with 10 reputation points You can rate members posts by giving/taking (agree/disagree with the post) an amount of reputation points equal to your reputation power. Your amount of reputation points are visible in your user control panel ("User CP" link at the top of every page). Green box = Positive reputation Red box = Negative reputation Grey box = reputation from members that haven't reached the minimum requirements for using the rep system. Grey reputations wont affect your reputation points, unless the member reaches the min. req. (see below) Your reputation is also displayed as little green dots under you username in posts and you'll get one extra "dot" for every 100 reputation points received. You'll also get new image ("alt=") text on the dots when your reputation increases: (The text displayed when you mouse over the dots) -10 = has a little shameless behavior in the past 0 = is an unknown quantity at this point 20 = will become famous soon enough 100 = has a spectacular aura about etc... Click on the "+/-" icon located under the username in the threads to use the reputation system. All members starts with 1 reputation power, but you'll need a minimum of 10 posts and 10 reputation points before your rep. power is active and affects other members. You earn more reputation power by being active in the forum. You get + 1 rep power pr 365 days as a member and +1 rep power pr. 2000 posts. You'll also get +1 rep power pr 100 reputation points you get. (max 3 rep power total) You can use the reputation system max 10 times for 24 hours, and you must give reputation to a minimum of 20 other members before you can use it on the same member again. The reputation system is monitored by the forum staff! Members who abuse the system (goes on a "personal vendetta") will loose their reputation privileges, and in severe cases will be temp banned. The system is meant to rate posts, not members! |
