Family Serving Together

Just had a question, not pertaining to any military in particular but this should be a general one, what are the chances of serving (as an officer) in the same unit as another family member?

Say father/son or uncle / nephew in the same brigade?
Would this be allowed? I guess there would still be a conflict of interest?
What if the father/uncle were the brigade commander? There would be a huge conflict of interest, wouldn't there?

I know it can't happen at the lowest levels. I am not sure of the level where that disolves at. It is going depend on how high they are. My mom is at division level and I am a enlisted ground pounder. She does not have direct control over me or directly controls events that would help add to my success. I am pretty sure thats the key. There are too many people in between her and me for her to make a real effect.
