An Eye for an Eye...

Yesterday, FEB 24, a young guy by the name of Emilio Gutierrez, from Lazcano in the North of Spain (Basque) attacked with a big hammer a bar/office of the "Abertzale", the political arm of the terrorist organizatioin ETA and destroyed everything inside.

The background: On Sunday ETA had posted an 8kg bomb close to the Socialist Party seat in the city and blown it up (in a reaction to coming Sundays elections in The Basque Region), in the process also severely damaging Emilios apartment (rendered unusable) which he had just finished constructing over a few years.

Emilio went to live with his parents and kept still (which is the normal reaction for Basque citizens under the constant threat of ETA).

Yesterday then there was a small demonstration in front of the political seat of ETA for ETA victims, and a group of radical ETA supporters were there, openly laughing at the victims who´s houses got destroyed.

This time, Emilio would not remain still anymore, calmly went to his car, got a big hammer out, and then... see for yourself

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ikzdg1AJa6A

When he got arrested he shouted into the face of the present pro-eta radicals "Vosotros habeis jodido mi casa, ahora he jodido la vuestra, Ojo por ojo!" ("You ****ed up my house, now I have ****ed up your´s, an eye for an eye!")...

Now, reactions are blooming in Spain, this was *the* theme in bars here in my area yesterday morning.

The president of The Basque Region, the "lehendakari" Ibarretxe of the moderate national PNV commented that reactions like the one of Emilio were "inciting violence" which seems a bit ridiculous when Emilio just had been victim of serious ETA violence, but others ask for supporting him.

ETA has put up Emilios portrait everywhere in a "Wanted Fascist" style and say that his face will not be forgotten should he ever come back (which in their language means neck shot) to show their presence and to make the villagers shut up.

About 100 ETA supporters held a demonstration in the village under the banner of "Eraso faxistarik ez, demokrazia orain!" ("No more fascist attacks, democracy now!") and later published a communique to the press in which they voice their "indignation" about the "shameful take of some media" that find Emilios actions "comprehensible". Nothing about the bombing attack of cause.

Of cause on the other hand there are many that aks themselves why it took so long before someone reacted to ETA violence with some balls well hung, there is a support website up for Emilio (http://justicierolazkao.blogspot.com/) where you can donate to pay for the apartment reconstruction and the lawyers he will need (he will be facing 8 years), and on facebook a group has been formed that "ISO 100.000 persons that want to give a hammering to an ETA office" (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=69918655249).

God, ETA that darling terrorist organization responsible for the MURDER, and MAIMING of hundreds gets their HQ smashed...that just breaks my heart. Sniff..Sniff

Personally I would have got some gasoline, some hotdogs, and marshmellow and had a roast, but that's my personal taste.

And F*** ETA and their threats.

Emilio has a set of balls. Good man, taking it back to ETA and showing that he isn't afraid - medal for Emilio, tea & crumpets all round, then time to start thumping.

I really hope that he get's the protection he deserves, although he'll probably be prosecuted for vandalism.
