A former 101st Airborne Division soldier pleaded innocent in Louisville in the rape and slaying of a 14-year-old Iraqi girl and the killings of her father, mother and 6-year-old sister. Former Army private Steven Green, 21, is charged with murder and aggravated sexual assault.
The attack happened March 12 in Mahmoudiya, 20 miles south of Baghdad. Green was stationed there with the 502nd Infantry Regiment. He was discharged in May and was indicted under civil law. Soldiers who still are serving in the 101st also face charges related to the incident.
