Europe funding terrorist

I think this is probaly small-hardcore groups, not read anything bout this before. Wouldnt be the first time misguided people in western countries have supported terrorism, the IRA used to get funds from the USA.

That's a huge distortion of the facts. While it may sound nice, it's not true.

The United States did supply the muhjadeen with ammo, money, and stinger air to surface missiles during the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, but once the Soviets had been expelled we ceased to supply them with arms.

Bin Laden fought in Afghanistan against the Soviet Union and during that time undoubtably benefited from United States arms and money. However after the war Bin Laden inherited several hundred million dollars from his family. He then proceeded to invest it and gain further funds. Later when he set about setting up Al Queda he had more then enough money to fund it.

Since then Al Queda has relied on Bin Laden's personal funds and business investments as well as funds raised through false charities and a combination of illegal and legal businesses.

Sheik Mohammed bin Laden, the family patriarch and founder of its construction empire. Upon his death in 1968, he left behind 57 sons and daughters - the offspring he sired with 12 wives in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. About a dozen brothers manage Bin Laden Brothers Construction - one of the largest construction firms in the Middle East.

Salem bin Laden, Osama's older brother, was an investor in Arbusto Energy. - the Texas oil company started by George W. Bush. Arbusto means "Bush" in Spanish. Salem bin Laden died in an airplane crash in Texas in 1988.

Fresh out of Harvard Business School, young George W. Bush returned to Midland, TX, in the late 1970s to follow his father's footsteps in the oil business. Beginning in 1978, he set up a series of limited partnerships - Arbusto '78, Arbusto '79, and so on - to drill for oil.

yes you're right,

the US only armed and trained bin ladens group, and when the war stopped he should've been a nice tool and laid down his arms and gone home

so he was funded by the US

how was that a 'huge distortion of facts' when u just proved what i said in the first place?

weird

The only time the United States Government was in any supplying forces associated with Bin Laden was when they were a resistance movement fighting with the people of Afghanistan against a Soviet invasion and restricting their actions to combatting Soviet forces.

If you can't see the difference here then you are too blind to the facts to take part in rational discussion.

Because what you are insinuating is that the Al Queda was trained and funded by the US to fight the Russians which is untrue in reality it was the Muhjadeen that received the funding and support Bin Laden was simply a member of that group, I strongly doubt that any funding or direct support ever went to Al Queda from the US.

Throughout history, nations have always funded resistance/terrorist groups to serve their own agenda. The Soviets supported Communist groups, the US supported anti communist groups that would be friendly to them and they all have used terror tactics and such.

Yea the money is small, for now. I can’t wait for the insurginaid concert. Around three billion dollars went to various Muj groups through Pakistan, and as you can imagine, an undetermined amount of aid never made it by way of theft and diversion. Also, the stingers that were supplied to the Muj have all had their warheads expire by now. People like to think that state dept. and overseas operatives are stupid, but this is not the case. Simply put, anyone who gives money to the terrorists in Iraq is supporting beheadings and child killing suicide bombers. Such people should be counted amongst the enemies of civilized states and must be deported to the places that they fund. If they love them so much they should get a nice warm welcome there; especially if they are atheist

Hi,

Europe especially UK has been one of the Countiries used by Terrorists Active in India to Collect Funds ...........It's Estimated that Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT)Alone Collected $2,80,000 From British Muslim Community Just after the 9/11 .

Uk needs to shed it's Laxity towards Muslim Extrimists and do more to track their Funding .... and Stop it.

The focus of So called war on Terror is on Al-Qaeda ......... But a much larger force of terror is set to emerge in the form of Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) ........along with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Sipah-e-Sahiba (SSP), all based in Pakistan ......... The One of the Three Terrorist Involved in the London bombing have been said to visit religious School in Pakistan Linked to Lashker-e-Taiba ......... the strategy of LeT and other two bodies is to create a mass base and ensure almost unlimited supply of funds and manpower from a large number of sources ........ and Europe and Canada are becoming easy places for money laundring.... and creating Funding networks.

Peace

Two years ago I did a 100 point work in social studies course C at municipal adult education school. The subject was Terrorism. And I can confirm that sweden due to it´s slack attitude towards terrorists and the threat from them are one of the main contributors to terrorist organisations around the world. Things change very slow over here and it feels like they really like to stall any attempts to deal with the problem. ;)

Socalism and Extream Leftwing say hello to the 21st century, some sweeds still question your buisness in this so called democracy. 8)

Just so you should know this.

Doc.S i had a fellow student of mine do a peice on how swedens economy was thriving under socialism is this true or was he full of it.

Well Rabs even if it is a bit off topic I can say like this. Socialism today ís nothing of what it once was, in the 80s for an example. Today the swedish economy looks good on the paper and when they dream. In reality the swedish economy have been on a nice steady fall all since 1993, and all our gov do is increase taxes and making harder rules for the common people so they have less freedom to really break free from the system they so often are trapped within. Unemployment is hidden behind different EU employment projects and new rules in the social security laws makes it possible to hide even more in the schools even if 34% of all university students today walks straight out in unemployment togheter with probably 45% of the upper secondary school students leaving also going to unemployment.

The socialists togheter with the Leftwing (Their political leader is an outspoken communist - Look in to it for yourselves if you don´t believe me. Lars Ohly ) and the Green party have destroyed what your friend have done a work on. Perhaps in the mid 80s there was something that was called thriving economy. This country is soon only a shadow of it´s old self. This country is dying from the inside out and there is nothing that will change over here untill there is a smaller revolution or a new world war that may effect this countrys economy in a positive direction. EU has made it easy for our gov to run modern slavery without anyone noticing it. They are hidden behind projects and such things. offcourse those who are rich or has it fairly good since they are born in the right socialist bloodline has nothing to worry about. Modern slavery founds the existens of thousands in sweden at the moment.

Their wages are on a so called existence minimums so you get roof over your head and food every second day with todays food prices. This is not talked about cause there is only 50.000 people perhaps doing this right now. But their 8 hours at day makes all parks and the different municipality around this country look as it always have done. Nice and clean that is. Well the number of people walking straight in to this modern slavery in a so called democracy is growing every year that goes by. And offcourse, this can only work for about 10 more years or something. Then I think with this gov still in power, we will have a civil war or something.

And thats because those who once was taking care of the parks earlier was fired or in other ways moved to this employment projects as they are called. I have not seen your friends work but what ever source he may have looked at, he has the illusion report of this once great economy in his hands. Sweden today get me to think about the U.S.S.R and Stalin. We are for all I know, on a direct course to make another Soviet fall thats for sure. Problem with sweden is that there are no real political opposite poles. Thats why those who are rich get richer and those who are poor get poorer. ;)

Over here you will only find corruption from the top all the way down to the cleaning lady, a tall poppies syndrome you find everywhere, it is a very small country. And to add something new to your friends work. Today our gov have approved 3500 new university positions so there will be 3500 new unemployed people then this year that comes.

Cheers:
