A bomb released by an aircraft from the NATO-led coalition missed its target in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday and struck a house, killing two civilians and wounding 10, coalition officials said. These were the latest in a mounting toll of civilian casualties in Afghanistan. The weapon was aimed at an insurgent rocket position in the eastern province of Khost, officials said, but it malfunctioned and landed more than a mile and a half from the target. Afghans have been angered by a surge in civilian casualties in recent weeks, and the government has urged a review of foreign combat operations.
