Eric McClure will be attempting his first 2006 Nextel Cup race at Talladega in the #04 Hefty Brand Chevy for Morgan-McClure Motorsports with associate sponsorship from 77 Sports.com, Forward Air, Morgan-McClure Chevrolet and Duke Yontz Auctions. Calling the shots for the Chilhowie, VA native will be a collaborated effort between Larry McClure, Steve Gray (car chief of the #4 team), and longtime MMM employee Robert Larkins. McClure will be competing with MMM chassis #80 which was last used in Nextel Cup Series competition during the 2003 Daytona 500. The UAW-Ford 500 marks the second of three events for Hefty Brand and Eric McClure during the 2006 Nextel Cup and Busch Series season. Their final event of the year will come at the Busch Series Dollar General 300 on October 13, at Lowe's Motor Speedway. McClure is attempting to qualify for his third (3) career NASCAR Nextel Cup event, and first of the 2006 season at the Talladega. The UAW-Ford 500 will mark McClure's second time competing at the famed 2.66-mile speedway. His first appearance came in his Nextel Cup Series debut in April 2004, where he started 35th and finished 26th. In addition to McClure's efforts, Hefty Brand will serve as Co-primary sponsor on the MMM #4 entry during the Bank of America 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 14, 2006.(Morgan-McClure Motorsports PR)
