Enlisted with Anxiety, Tourettes, ADD and Asthma

I have a relative, 20, who has enlisted in the Army. He has been diagnosed in adolescent years with Anxiety, ADD, Tourettes and Asthma. I was surprised that the Army took him. Even in a basic google search I see that those with these disorders do not pass their MEPS exam. Can you enlighten me please?
