Is This The End Of The SBS

HMS Spartan is being decommissioned and this is the only Submarine in the Royal Navy that can launch attacks by the SBS. A replacement is not planned for at least another three years, so it will be back to canoes or the flippers for them

The only sub capable of launching their special boats is HMS Spartan it has a couple of small compartments on it's deck that can hold these boats.

So, surely there is a plan to fit these compartments onto another Swiftsure class sub? It would be a hell of a lot cheaper to do that than re-commision.

Or am I being hopelessly naive? Would that demonstrate joined up thinking?

There are many ways the SBS can be deployed and who knows what the RN have up their sleeves.Or maybee im just over optimistic?
