How to use the new [yt] (youtube) code:
[yt=video name]Video ID[/yt]

If I want to embed this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQHX-SjgQvQ

Then I'll need to use this code:
[yt=Medieval helpdesk]pQHX-SjgQvQ[/yt]
(The Video ID is the characters listed after v= in the URL/Link)

Creates this embedded video:

Medieval helpdesk

If so, then you need to add a custom BBCode for Youtube...

on the toolbar above the post box. far right side. the blue PHP tag. click

back these out and type youtube in. thus

now copy and paste in everything after the =

thus

many forums are now adding a little red youtube icon on that toolbar. when clicked you get:

[yt][/yt] once again add in everything after = done

yet other forums do a simple copy and paste of the URL

while others copy and paste in the embedded.

see why i forget??? would be nice to see one way standardized for all forums. but different strokes for diff servers

For SMF (http://www.simplemachines.org/, my take: The best forum software around, I now run it where owners let me when I do TechAdmin) it´s just pasting the link, and not only for youtube, but for most video sites (Aeva plug), and many audio sites: The way it should be.
