New York City may soon add a team of experts on weapons of mass destruction to its lineup of first responders.
Known as a Civil Support Team and made up of 22 members of the Army and Air Force National Guard, the "elite terror response team" would be on call for any crisis involving chemical, biological or radiological agents.
Reps. Vito Fossella and Peter King, both New York Republicans, announced the move at a news conference at Fort Hamilton, where the unit would be based.
