ELECTION PROGRESS

Surprising that he did so well then, relatively speaking. Did he end up the most popular loser ever, as the pollsters were suggesting, unseating Al Gore? Or did the final count overtake him?

What is that saying you Brits have: "better to vote on the devil you know than on the unkown..." Or something like that? Once in the voting booth many people choose the familiar yet unpopular, because they fear the new kid even more...

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't. That isn't specifically a voting reference of course, but certainly it would have to be taken into account at election time.

However, the American people have spoken, and they have great record . John is now history, Barack carries the baton. I hope he will be a great President, and that the brave support of the people will produce the result they deserve for such a fantastic historic choice. Home of the brave still.:salute2:

Sarah Palin to stump with Sen. Saxby Chambliss

ATLANTA (AP) — Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is scheduled to campaign with Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss the day before his Dec. 2 runoff.

The senator's campaign says Palin will join Chambliss for four public rallies across the state Monday.

The Alaska governor is popular with Georgia's conservative base. She and John McCain carried the state in the Nov. 4 general election. McCain campaigned with Chambliss earlier this month.

Ain't gonna happen, trust me the Democrats will get tired of this "new, new deal" real fast when they figure out who pays for it.
