What would you think of this being the presidential helicoper and could it replace the Huey (UH-1Y) as the marines transport heli!

it defitnetly sounds like a good helicopter...seems survivable enough to transport a president.

i think the UH-1 will probly be around for a while longer...aged as it is, its still too versatile. I thought the marines were going to use the osprey (V-22) for its main personnel transport, but i don't know if they got all the bugs out of it yet.

oh well...

I dont know whether this is the type of helicopter that you would use as a replacement to the Huey, sikorsky etc due to its size as so far no customers have bought it as a troop carrier only for SAR/CSAR, mine warfare etc. The british government which will be looking for a replacement for the Puma might leave it alone as well and go for the smaller european NH90, i dont know whether this will be for costs or due to the size!

The main thing about this helicopter is its cost. It's expensive compared to the Huey. It's also more difficult to maintain.
