Earthquake in southwestern Mexico shakes capital, forces evacuations

A moderate but shallow earthquake in southwestern Mexico on Monday was felt in Mexico City, where it shook buildings and forced offices to be evacuated. Preliminary reports from the government's civil protection agency said the quake registered a moderate 5.8 magnitude. The quake's epicenter was in the southwestern state of Guerrero at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to Mexico's national seismological service.
