Dumb insolence

BritinBritain

Per Ardua Ad Astra
During WW2 my father was placed on a charge and marched in front of the CO for some insignificant misdemeanor.

The charge was read out by the CO who then asked if my father had anything to say.

My father replied “No Sir.”

The CO then charged him with dumb insolence and given a further 7 days confined to barracks and extra guard duty. lol

If a soldier commits an alleged offence which is not covered in Queens Regulations, there is the old standby “Section 69 Prejudice to good order and discipline,” which covers just about everything.

Oh boy...another catch all regulation..aint it article 134 of the UCMJ for the US Military? it deals with the catch all phrase....good order and such
