Disgusting isn't it? ......

Someone asked about references . I found the original post on another forum and wasn't sure about the accuracy ... so ....

I went to .gov, UN and Department of State sites and the numbers were the 'best' of the figures that I could find.

As I stated
What makes it very difficult to come up with a concrete figure, is the fact that much of the aid is buried in department budgets other than the State Department’s. Things like some of the military aid (weapons, etc), are buried in the Department of Defense budgets, etc. Some estimates run as high as $400 billion annually … nobody can give an exact figure because of the convoluted budgets in the various departments that contribute to the total.

Even IF you discount the modest (or low) figures, the amount of money going to foreign entities each and every year is still staggering.

Yeh, im out of patience. Look what the Marshall plan got us. A bunch of stinking socialist that think there better than us. Woot woot.

We destroyed Germany and Japan why isnt a US flag flying over them?

Gosh, I never thought of that Rabs. History would have been so different today.

The biggest problem though is the news media. See thanks to the internet I have been able to talk to hundreds upon hundreds of people from all over the world and most of those people do not hate us like the nightly news would like you to think. Most of them love the US and are glad we are doing what we are doing, it is their governments that don't like us and for good reason. We give their people hope and in turn that might mess up their governments whole enslave the population-make them live in crap-while we lounge around the palace ideology, think warlords and dictators for example.

Interestingly, i cant completely agree with you there. In country's like Iran, the entire population certainly doesnt hate the US, but you cant deny that there is probably a significant section that agrees with their Governments stand. And in Saudi Arabia, and other Arab countries who are US allies, very significant numbers are unhappy with their governments' support for the US.

Perhaps I should have clarified....

Countries that allow their people to use the internet freely ;)

Iran and Saudi Arabia brain wash their people into thinking the west is the "devil"...just take a look at their student text books....

I dunno about Saudi though... the (not-so-very-democratic) govt. there is supported by the US, so y wud they do that. Note i am not refering to anything whipped up by people outside the govt.

You obviously did take the time to look into the textbooks they teach their students with....Like I said....

They teach a hatred of the west...In fact if you pay any attention to current events in the news you would have seen this a little while back...it was an argument for why are we bothering to support them if they are teaching hatred of us....

This ought to upset everybody ….

Below are the actual voting records of eighteen Arabic/Islamic States which are recorded in both the US State Department and United Nations records:

Kuwait votes against the United States 67% of the time
Qatar votes against the United States 67% of the time
Morocco votes against the United States 70% of the time
United Arab Emirates votes against the U. S. 70% of the time.
Jordan votes against the United States 71% of the time.
Tunisia votes against the United States 71% of the time.
Saudi Arabia votes against the United States 73% of the time.
Yemen votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Algeria votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Oman votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Sudan votes against the United States 75% of the time.
Pakistan votes against the United States 75% of the time.
Libya votes against the United States 76% of the time.
Egypt votes against the United States 79% of the time.
Lebanon votes against the United States 80% of the time.
India votes against the United States 81% of the time.
Syria votes against the United States 84% of the time.
Mauritania votes against the United States 87% of the time.

U S Foreign Aid to four of those countries that hate (or) dislike us:

Egypt, for example, after voting 79% of the time against the United States, still receives $2 billion annually in US Foreign Aid.

Jordan votes 71% against the United States and receives $192,814,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

Pakistan votes 75% against the United States and receives $6,721,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

India votes 81% against the United States and receives $143,699,000 annually.

These four countries alone account for over $2,343,234,000 annually, and are not the only countries from the list that receive foreign aid from the United States. Low estimates of the total foreign aid runs in excess of $140 billion annually. Keep in mind that these are the LOW estimates of aid ... nobody can give a concrete figure.

Perhaps it is time to get out of the UN and give the tax savings back to the American workers who are having to skimp and sacrifice to pay the taxes (and buy Middle Eastern gasoline).

Pass this along to every taxpaying citizen you know.

Disgusting isn't it?

Can you not post without bold letters and either all caps or larger letters? Your methods seem to take more time than they are worth.

about your post. I hope you did your home work. How many of those countries aid are you laying on President Bush? What you need to realize is that we have been giving aid to countries for longer than most of the people here have been alive.

If you don't like the situation what are you doing to fix it? Put democrats in office? Democrats AND Republicans are responsible for the funds going out of this country to aid others.

This administration has little to do with the fact that those countries receive aid and even less to do with those countries voting against the U.S. as you described above.

whoa i didnt mean to come off as beligerent or anything.

about the news thing, if its been anything since september, i probably would not know. if it was before that, i was back home, and i dont think it would b very newsworthy there.

i dont remember which thread or who's post i read this off, but it went something like- they hate us for supporting their undemocratic govt., and so now we cant but continue to do so, because a popularly elected govt. would be even less friendly.

yea so i guess its because having the govts. of countries like saudi as allies is very important.

sounds like the usa is trying to buy votes here.
i think that the usa and everyone else shouldnt stick their noses in where its not wanted, or even if it is wanted. simply live and let be. that would save everyone alota trouble.

im not saying its that simple but its what i thinks best

if it is wanted, then its valid enough to be there...

yes it is valid, but sometimes things shouldnt be done because of later ramifications.

i think donkey's 1st coment in this thread was very true, just focus on home soil for a while, it'll both send a message and help the economy
