Desert Storm

Specify what you need info on and I'll look into it for you. I have both military related and politics related material available.

I just wanted to know if anyone had some stories about Desert Storm. My friend's dad has given me a few, but I was hoping to get a few more.

Man, this is not helping. You are finding nice and available people over here, but you'll have to dismiss that term "stories" and specify: Personal experiences from ODS? Or the strategic and technical aspect? The timeline? What exactly?

A good book with ODS personal experience stories is "American Soldier" by Gen. Tommy Franks.

I also know a veteran who served in an armor unit in the Gulf.

I don't know what help this is but I saw a program on the hisotry channel the other week about the A-10. One of the clips was one of the first pilots to fire on the infamous "highway of death" saw so many targets he just thought his radar had F*ed up on him again. He dropped him bombs figuring something must be down there but they where still mystified when the squadron was debriefing... trying to figure out how all their radars could simultaniously have the same problem. It wasn't until the CNN cameras got there in the morning did they realize all those blips where real!

Narrow down to what you want and I might be able to help. As of now I have no clue what you want.

I recommend the book "Essential Stories - The Gulf War". It gives you information on the political aspect of the war, a brief introduction to the origins of the conflict in general, the battles and manouvers, and some personal stories by soldiers who fought in the Gulf War.

Indeed Top, by the time I arrived you glory hogs had already finished. It was all over except for the counting. ;)

Yep, I remember my driver saying to me with a straight face, "You know top, I've had longer fights with my wife".

Hahahahaha, THAT is priceless. Top I hope you write a memoir one day if you haven't already, I know I for one would buy it.
