well hello everyone. I recently joined the US Navy and my shipout date to boot camp is OCT 2009. Im kinda aprehensive but at the same time excited!

Welcome, sassy. I hope you do well in training. When you move on to a duty station, everything will be smoother and easier.
 
Hi future swabby! Are you going to GLakes (Great Lakes, IL) for boot camp? If yes, you'll be only a short train ride from Chicago. Are you USN or USNR; how long is your commitment? Did they promise you an A School? I'm not being nosey; but these are importent questions you should have answers to. On a personal note, I must say I loved being at sea and really miss it. Hope you have "fair winds and following seas".
