Are there no flame retardant systems on british armour? Fire extinguisher? He is indeed very lucky to get away from a petrol fire with only minor injuries.
 
they will have that APC back working in no time flat, it looks a lot worse than it is.
To give you an idea of some of the British Training for this sort of thing I hopefully have attached a picture from my old Regiment.

From what i heard they threw petrol bombs on the APC, then threw olb tyre's on top.
