U.S. Chamber of Commerce Puts Hold On Parts Of HB 1804

A federal judge has issued an order delaying enforcement of Oklahoma's anti-illegal immigration law, saying it is "substantially likely" it is unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Robin J. Cauthron issued a preliminary injunction on Wednesday prohibiting enforcement of provisions of the law.

Those provisions subjected employers to penalties for failing to comply with a federal employee verification system designed to prevent the hiring of illegal immigrants.

The decision came on a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Oklahoma Chamber and other business groups.

State Chamber official Mike Seney said the ruling was timely since the employer portions of the law were to take effect July 1.

Another Damn judge making laws.
The people of Oklahoma wanted it, put it together, got it passed through the house and the Senate, signed by the governor to only be stopped by a :cen: Judge.

So much for a republic and the voice of the people. Because last time I checked.... Congress writes laws, the President passes the law or vetoes it, Congress could pass it by 3/4 majority after the veto. And the Courts enforce the law.

Now how the hell is it unconstitutional for a State to pass a law that enforces FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW. It's not like it's saying that you or I. Legal Citizens and Legal Residents or Legal Foreigners cannot be there. It's going after ILLEGAL ALIEANS. Persons that have already broken laws. This bill is very similar to the one Arizona passed. which the liberals challenged in courts but it was upheld as constitutional.

Does anyone else feel like they are living in a nightmare?
