Dakota downwd

I last saw saw one in service in Indonesia I think.
Bureaucrats... it's like their profession is to make everyone else's lives as boring as theirs.

Savages! The DC-3/C-47 is one safe bird. I'd feel safer flying in one then a modern day aircraft.

We still have them flying in the States.

Years ago I had the pleasure of riding a BVI Airlines Dakota, and I be telling you I'd give up my collection of stamps any minute for a chance to do that again!

The sound of the big radials being started, prop rotating slowly and the bangs and flames from the exhausts before they roared to life, amazing! :)

Doubt there will ever be made a plane as sturdy as the old dakota's!
