Topic: A curious weapon


An interesting report with some curious photographs showing a Spitfire of the RAF carrying beer kegs under the wings. I've never seen this. Can anyone tell what the purpose of it ? To see these curious and unbelievable photos, visit the link below:

The RAF had forward bases in France after Normandy. They probably found some nice castles to live in and they needed the beer for their officers. The RAF doesn't live in tents or on the ground. If they cannot find nice hotels, castles will do nicely.
