Hey everybody, this is my first post (ever, not just on this forum) so forgive me if my post isn't terribly forum-friendly

I just got my leave date last week for the USAF as a Cryptologic Linguist (Cat IV) and I was wondering something:

With all that is going on in the world, what do you think are the most relevant languages for linguists to learn (and be learning for the next year to year and a half)?

Absolutely love this forum, btw. It has already made me feel like I'm part of the team before I've even posted or gone through BMT. Thanks to all.

Arabic. We are going to interact much more in the future.
Chinese. For the same reasons.

I can understand how Arabic would be important for the rest of my young life and for generations to come, but why Chinese so much? I know they're trying to make deals with Korea but what else am I missing?
And what about Korean? I would think we're going to be dealing with them some time soon what with all the hoopla with Kim Jong Un over there.

Arabic(any of the dialects),Chinese,Russian(the Soviet Union mentality is still there))and Korean.
