DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka (AFP) - West Indies captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul elected to bat after winning the toss against India in a triangular one-day series match at the Rangiri Stadium here.

India Sunday retained the side that lost the opening match to Sri Lanka by three wickets here on Saturday.

Middle-order batsman Narsingh Deonarine and wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin made their one-day debuts for the West Indies .

India Team:

Rahul Dravid (capt), Virender Sehwag, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Suresh Raina, Venugopal Rao, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra.

West Indies:

Shivnarine Chanderpaul (capt), Xavier Marshall, Runako Morton, Sylvester Joseph, Ricardo Powell, Narsingh Deonarine, Dwayne Smith, Denesh Ramdin, Tino Best, Daren Powell, Jermaine Lawson.

Umpires: Daryl Harper (AUS) and T. H. Wijewardene (Sri Lanka)

Current Score West Indies are 22/2 ......... Both teams are Playing without their Big name Players ........ many Players are making their debut in this series.


Right now Without Brain Lara they are in Big Big Trouble their Only hope is their Captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul and their Lusty hitter Ricardo Powell....... :D

:? For a team which Domanited World Cricket .......... went into every match as Favourates to Win ........... The Great West Indies Just dosen't seem to know what they are Doing in the Feild Currently......... I am Great fan of West Indies Team they have given world Cricket some of the best Players ever born ......... But the Currently they just don't seem to know what they are doing on the feild..... they have some Individial Talents but as a team they just aren't getting together........pathetic performance by them.

India 180-4 (36 overs) beat West Indies 178 all out (47.4 overs) by six wickets.

I am a WI fan as well but they remind me a lot of Pakistani cricket these days in that they seem a little brittle, if they start well then they go on and the whole lot do well but if they dont then they all fail in record time.

Sri Lanka comfortably beat West Indies by 50 runs in the third match of the Indian Oil Cup.

Sri Lanka 241-6 beat West Indies 191 by 50 runs............ It's a Shame they can't even reach 200 mark yet in the Tri Series.
