Cost of a Gewehr 43 and SVT-40

My godfather in Serbia just called, and he asked me if I could find the price [In Euro currency] of a Gewehr 43 and a SVT-40.

He does a lot of hunting in Serbia [I think he mainly uses a M48A with a M70 pistol], and he was thinking of buying a semi-automatic rifle, because his M48 is getting a bit old.

He asked me if I could find out [He doesnt have internet, and he is currently too busy to look around for the two] the estimated price of a Gewehr 43 and a SVT-40 in Eastern/Central Europe [In Euro's].

And could someone compare the two and give their opinion about which is better? Mainly cleaning and maintenance [He wants it to last], but also performance and the optimum range.

I recall seeing a website selling surplus soviet gear for pennies on the dollar. I have to hunt it down. We can't import the firearms into the USA because of trade embargoes and such....

Probably, Serbia is VERY different from the USA.

The gun store I go to sells the SVT-40 for $450 brand new condition.

A mate of mine sold his G43 awhile back.. As it was in pretty ok shape he got 2500 bucks for it..It´s a collectors item.
