Compulsory Voting

I think it is a ridiculous idea, and an example of a government forcing values on people - in this case democratic values, which not everybody shares. Shouldn't our taxes be enough for governments? If an individual honestly does not want to participate in his or her society's government, is that not his right?

What are your thoughts?
